Yacht introduction

Designed and manufactured by Nimbus in Sweden, the 26′-40′ (8m-12m) class of products is known for its elegant and understated classical luxury, and its safety and comfort in the face of rough sea conditions in the North Sea.

The first 26-foot cockpit Nimbus was born in 1968 as a result of the refinement of Volvo Penta’s best-selling marine mainframe, at a time when European yachts did not have the proper boat design to match their performance. The Volvo Group therefore organized a team of the best Nordic engineers to design the first small yacht that could run smoothly at high speed in the North Sea and has a comfortable cabin for families travelling to and from the outlying islands and cottages. The company’s popularity and seaworthiness has led to the purchase of the Nimbus Yachts by the Norwegian oil company and the Swedish military for use as an offshore oil drilling platform personnel transport and rescue boat, which, in turn, has led to the creation of today’s Nimbus Yachts and the establishment of a leading technology and brand position in the industry.
